Checkredirects.io + n8n
A community node for n8n that brings URL inspection, batch checking, and redirect monitoring into your self-hosted automation workflows. 18 operations, 2 triggers, zero external dependencies.
Setup (5 minutes)
1. Install the node
In n8n: Settings > Community Nodes > Install, enter n8n-nodes-checkredirects. Or install manually:
cd ~/.n8n && npm install n8n-nodes-checkredirects2. Get an API key
Sign up at checkredirects.io, then go to Settings > API Keys and create a key. It starts with httpnd_.
3. Add credentials in n8n
In any Checkredirects.io node, click Create New Credential. Paste your API key. The base URL defaults to https://api.checkredirects.io.
4. Build a workflow
Add a Checkredirects.io node, pick a resource and operation, and execute. Results come back as structured JSON ready for downstream processing.

Triggers
- Webhook trigger -- fires on batch completed, monitor completed, or monitor change detected. Supports HMAC signature verification with your webhook signing secret.
- Polling trigger -- watches a specific monitor for new runs. No webhook setup needed, runs on n8n's polling schedule.
Setting up the webhook trigger
- Add a Checkredirects.io Trigger node to your workflow
- Select the event type (batch completed, monitor completed, or monitor change detected)
- Activate the workflow -- n8n will generate a webhook URL
- Copy that URL and paste it as the
webhook_urlwhen creating batches or monitors (via the API, UI, or another n8n node in the same workflow) - Optional: enable Verify Signature and paste your webhook secret from Settings > Webhooks for cryptographic verification
Key features
- Split Results: Each URL becomes a separate n8n item for per-URL downstream processing (IF nodes, filters, routing)
- Preset dropdown: Dynamically loads your saved presets -- no need to copy IDs
- Check and Wait: Submits a batch and polls until results are ready (up to 5 min), so you get results in one step
- Batch comparison: Compare the current batch with a previous run and only return diffs
